Pressed Concrete Special Inspector Course

​Through ICC Credentialing, the ICC Prestressed Concrete (92CY) certification identifies individuals with a broad knowledge of prestressing preliminaries, installation, placement, stressing, and finishing methods.

ICC 92CY covers tensioning methods and products used in building and foundation erection and the practices associated with various scenarios encountered during construction. Additionally, this certification covers critical steps such as elongation, encapsulation systems, anchoring systems, Strand make-up, precast quality control, and prestressing. When making pre-stressed concrete, internal stresses of a suitable magnitude and distribution are injected. This is done to ensure that the stresses imposed by the external loads are reduced to an acceptable degree. This gives the finished product its characteristic appearance. This certification is used in nearly all construction projects worldwide. 

This 35-hour course comprises 12 lessons, 12 instant feedback quizzes, 3 quiz banks, and a final exam with a question bank of more than 240 questions. Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Atlas training ™.

 ICC 92PY Plans Reading Certification Course

Through ICC Credentialing, the ICC 92PY Plans Reading Certification Course identifies individuals with a strong understanding of construction plan interpretation, blueprint reading, and project documentation analysis.

ICC 92PY prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to accurately review and interpret construction documents related to prestressed concrete systems. This training focuses on analyzing structural plans, details, and specifications to verify code compliance and ensure proper design implementation of post-tensioned and pre-tensioned concrete elements. Trainees will learn to identify critical components such as tendon layout, anchorage zones, stressing sequences, and grouting procedures within the plans. Mastery of these concepts is essential for plan reviewers, engineers, and inspectors tasked with upholding safety and structural integrity in prestressed concrete construction.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE SPECIAL INSPECTOR CERTIFICATION: 

1. Obtain the 49 - Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector Certification

2. Pass the 92CY - Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector Codes Exam

3. Pass the 92PY - Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector Plans Exam

ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspector Certification required to take this course.

Credentials are valid for three (3) years and must be renewed on or before the expiration date to remain current.

Accruing CEUs

During the three (3) year period prior to the renewal processing date, you must accrue the number of continuing education units (CEUs) required for your certificate. Renewal is achieved by participating in continuing education and professional development activities. For example, a seminar you attended to earn CEUs must have been within the three (3) years prior to the renewal processing date (when the CEU becomes inactive).

You may renew your credentials at different times, but each renewal date is treated as a separate application. For example, if you have six credentials and renew two certifications on X date and four certifications on Y date, you must have 3.0 CEUs for X date and a 3.0 additional CEUs for Y date. 

Note: You must keep documents and records of each activity during the three (3) year renewal period. CEU applications are subject to random audits. If proof of CEUs cannot be provided, the renewal will be voided and your certifications will revert to their previous status.
