M2 COMMERCIAL MECHANICAL INSPECTOR COURSE OVERVIEW
Through ICC Credentialing, the ICC Commercial Mechanical certification identifies individuals highly trained in the mechanical systems and equipment used in commercial buildings, such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, plumbing systems, and electrical systems.
ICC Commercial Mechanical inspector’s jurisdiction lies in mechanical systems designed to provide a comfortable and safe indoor environment for occupants of commercial buildings, and they require specialized knowledge and expertise to install, maintain, and repair. Commercial mechanical contractors are typically responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing these systems in commercial buildings.
The 50h Mechanical Inspector training course comprises 14 lessons, 14 instant feedback quizzes, 3 quiz banks, and a final exam with a question bank of more than 280 questions. Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Atlas training ™.

Construction experience recommended but not required.
Credentials are valid for three (3) years and must be renewed on or before the expiration date to remain current.
Accruing CEUs
During the three (3) year period prior to the renewal processing date, you must accrue the number of continuing education units (CEUs) required for your certificate. Renewal is achieved by participating in continuing education and professional development activities. For example, a seminar you attended to earn CEUs must have been within the three (3) years prior to the renewal processing date (when the CEU becomes inactive).
You may renew your credentials at different times, but each renewal date is treated as a separate application. For example, if you have six credentials and renew two certifications on X date and four certifications on Y date, you must have 3.0 CEUs for X date and a 3.0 additional CEUs for Y date.
Note: You must keep documents and records of each activity during the three (3) year renewal period. CEU applications are subject to random audits. If proof of CEUs cannot be provided, the renewal will be voided and your certifications will revert to their previous status.
