AWS D17.1 Online Training Course
This exam prep course will familiarize the student with the general welding requirements for welding aircraft and space hardware. It includes but is not limited to the fusion welding of aluminum-based, magnesium-based, iron-based, cobalt-based, nickel-based, and titanium-based alloys using electric arc and high energy beam processes. AWS D17.1/D17.1M:2017 contains guidelines for fusion welding and examination of aerospace flight hardware, as well as the welding and inspection of non-flight hardware. When the AWS D17.1 specification is stipulated in contract documents, conformance with all provisions of the specification is required. The document is broken up into 9 main clauses, with the earliest ones being devoted to general guidance, references, and background information, while the remainder address the design of welded connections, qualification for welding procedures and the welders performing them, fabrication when welding aerospace hardware, inspection, the repair of existing structures and nonflight hardware.
Please Note the Following:
Our goal at Atlas is to provide you the necessary tools to pass the AWS CWI certification exam the very first time you try. Many of our students have considered themselves more hands-on when it comes to training courses. After taking our online training courses, these students have discovered that not only is online training a more economical way to prepare for a certification exam, but that online training is just a better way to learn the material. With the online training course, the student can start and stop whenever he/she may want. Students may also progress at their own pace, repeat material when needed, and use the interactive quizzes to train. This is by far the easiest way to study. The Atlas 48 hour money back guarantee means that you can check out the course with zero risks. If you are not happy with your purchase, we will gladly refund your money with no questions asked.

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE?
Endorsement Candidate Eligibility Criteria Any CWI or SCWI who wishes to obtain an endorsement that documents their knowledge, skills, and abilities in using the AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code can take the examination.
RECERTIFICATION
A Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) needs to complete 80 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) of courses, seminars, or online courses to maintain their certification. These courses must meet the requirements of AWS Specification for the Certification of Welding Inspectors (AWS QC1:2016-AMD1) and cover subjects defined in the Education and Experience Requirements of AWS Specification for the Qualification of Welding Inspectors (AWS B5.1:2013-AMD1).
Add One Endorsement:
A CWI can pursue adding an endorsement to their certification. Successful completion (passing exam score) will meet the requirements for CWI recertification. A CWI can pursue the endorsement option up to (11) months prior to the current CWI certification expiration date. A CWI must choose one of the endorsements from the list below. Endorsements require passing an exam. The following courses are eligible for endorsement:
AWS D1.1 Structural Steel
AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding (Coming Soon)
AWS D15.1 Railroad (Coming Soon)
AWS D17.1 Aerospace
API 1104 Pipelines
Structural Bolting Inspection
Important Note: AWS QC1:2016-AMD1 defines endorsement as an added skill in one's certification credentials. Pursuing an endorsement during 9-year recertification requires a different code book than the one used for current active CWI certification.
ENDORSEMENTS OR CERTIFICATIONS ACHIEVED PRIOR TO 9-YEAR RECERTIFICATION:
Endorsements: A CWI who has previously taken and passed one or more endorsement exams prior to the 9-year cycle may apply for recertification without having to meet further examination, professional development hour, or seminar requirements.
9-Year Recertification Course: As an alternative to the previous permitted options, a CWI can register and successfully complete the AWS 9-Year Recertification Course. The successful completion of the course meets the requirements for CWI recertification.
